Every story starts somewhere. In music, every band or artist has a first album, and every album has a side one. Or, at least they used to when LPs ruled the day. And every record had a side one, track one. So this week you're going to get a bunch of great bands very first introduction of themselves to you, the music loving public.

The Classic Negroni
I like the bitterness that comes with the Campari, and I think it works best over ice rather than straight up. That being said I always use one giant ice cube for slow dilution and absolute chilling. Like diamonds, with ice bigger is always better.
1 oz. gin
1 oz. Campari
1 oz. sweet vermouth
On the rockes
Garnish: orange twist

After five hours in the ER with two pelvic x-rays, a chest x-ray and CT scan, I can say with great assurance that it is not go time for yours truly. With as many broken bones as I have between my back and my ribs, go time is a long time from now. Lest there be any wild rumors about what I was doing at the time this all came about, let me assure, dear listener: it was the dog's fault! Indeed, I'm pretty sure he, the Notorious G.I.B., pushed me. But I lack good security cam footage so we'll never know for sure. As I lay here recovering all I've got to console me is some wild, strange, soothing, swinging, engaging music. And I'm sharing it with you. Along with the recipe for my current pain killer chaser, the gin basil smash. And smashing it is.
The new year is upon us and you know what that means. It means you gotta put on your slickest dancing shoes and get ready to strut your stuff, it's time for another bowlful of soul, another totally souled out modcast.
It's time again for me to imbibe too much and serve up an eclectic mix of holiday tunes. I'm joined as usual for this merry mess by Ken who manages to keep this thing from going totally to the isle of misfit modcasts. Merry Crimble and all that.
