Modcast #467: Hip New Sounds

Covid is raging around the world. It's clear many musicians are using this time to tap into their inspiration and some great music is being written and recorded these days in spite of all the daily horrors. I've got a whole bunch of it cued up for you.  Originally, my plan for this modcast was to do a new and used show with new and old music mixed.  But I realized I've been remiss of late in highlighting all the great new music coming out in the past couple of months so decided to just focus on all the new stuff. Hope you dig it as much as I do.

Built around buzzed out, guitar driven buzzsaw sounds and incorporating elements of everything from soul to grunge to modern alternative rock, all aimed at keeping the garage sound fresh but still recognizable.

Mr. Suave's Electile Dysfunction Election Night Special

From the vaults . . . I was going to do a special election episode of the Modcast, but in reviewing what I did in 2016 I found it was going to be hard to beat.

[Originally broadcast Nov. 2016] One year, 6 months, 27 days and 16 hours ago that 'nasty' woman announced her bid to become president in 2016. That means we've suffered through 829440 minutes of hearing about her effing e-mails. It wasn't much later that an orange hot air balloon slithered down that escalator and started the whole world laughing. Funny thing is, no one's laughing anymore. But it's all over now, except the screaming and shouting and suing.

So, turn on your least favorite cable news outlet whether it be MSNBC, FOX or CNN, turn the sound down on the tube and way up on your stereo system. With no talkin, just rockin' here is Mr. Suave's Electile Dysfunction Election Night Special playlist. Sort of like a soundtrack for your breakdown.

I'm Mr. Suave and I approved this playlist.

Featuring music from The Kinks, the Temptations, Barry McGuire, The Who, The vipers, The First Steps, The Rainyard, The Guess Who, Pretty Things, Jetty Boys, Slickee Boys, Buzzcocks, Mad Parade, Oingo Boingo, Devo, The Riptides, The Ruts, The Clash, Agent Orange, The Offspring, X, Steve Adamyk Band, The Ramones, The Cute Lepers, The Darling Buds, The Diodes, The Grays, Sam Cooke, Davie Bowie, Mountain Goats, The Chambers Brothers, The Addicts, Scissor Sisters and The Doors.
