Glad you liked it. Realized recently that Saturday mornings meant more about the music to me than anything else, and the music was pretty cool at times.

Brilliant to see Lancelot Link and The Evolution Revolution mentioned in a Mod-ish context!

Please 'Czech' out 'Bananas For Breakfast' for the crazy, sexy, cool Soul Girl, Valérie Čižmárová, who covered Lancelot Link and The Evolution Revolution's 'Sha-La Love You' as 'Dávno nejsem hloupá' ('I Haven't Been Crazy For A Long Time') at Studio A Karlín, Prague on 5th December 1970, maybe as the episode of 'Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp', 'The Sour Taste Of Success' was being aired, East Coast time.

Oh, also in a Mod-ish context, she also just happened to launch her career by singing The Kinks' 'Sunny Afternoon' as 'Slunný podnebí'/'Tám, za vodou' ('Sunny Weather'/'There, On The Water') as a sixteen-year-old on a talent show in 1968....and later had a nice line in Kinks-style stripey jackets herself!

Oops! Silly me! (Now I've had chance to think about it)

Since The Archies are also mentioned here, a more-than-honourable mention should go to the 4th May 1973-recorded 'Důkaz mi dej' ('Prove It To Me'), which was Valérie Čižmárová's cover of The Archies' 'Who's Your Baby', for which, in many ways, I think 'Dávno nejsem hloupá' was a 'rehearsal' (a pretty damned good one!).

I confess that - as in the case of 'Sha-La Love You' - I'd not previously heard of 'Who's Your Baby', because neither song made any impression on the charts in the UK, where I live.

BTW, on the back of 'Důkaz mi dej', the Prior chain of department stores used that tune as its jingle in advertisements on TV back in the 1970s. Yes, TV in Communist-Era Czechoslovakia was that commercial!

Chris thanks for the heads up. I'll try to track this stuff down!
